WordPress Apply Multisite

What is WordPress Multisite?
You can create multiple sites with one wordpress installed on the server.
Depending on the address that visitors connect to, you can create multiple sites with only one wordpress installed, rather than installing WordPress on a site-by-site basis.

What are the advantages of building a WordPress Multisite?
Even if you have multiple sites, you have one wordpress, and although you can see different sites, your internal data is integrated.

Set up WordPress Multisite
The WordPress Default Administrator screen does not have a Multisite Settings menu.
To make this menu visible, you need to modify the two files directly below after connecting to FTP.

  1. wp-config.php
  2. .htaccess

1. Contents of wp-config.php file /* That’s all, stop edging! Happy logging. */ Insert the following at the top:

/* Multisite */
define(‘WP_ALLOW_MULTISITE’, true);

When the file is modified, a Tools > Network Setup menu is created on the Administrator screen.
(Note: To set up a multisite while the current site is running, the plug-in will need to be disabled, so the service will need to be taken into account.)

2. Select Sub-domain or Sub-directory Method
– Subdomain : Name the subdomain before the domain name (e.g.english.multi.co.kr)
(If you are using subdomain, you must set domain management (DNS) subdomain in addition to wordpress setting.)
– Subdirectory : The domain name is the same and named by directory (e.g. multi.co.kr/english)

3. /* That’s all, stop edging! Happy logging. */ Insert below at the top of the wp-config.php file.

define(‘MULTISITE’, true);
define(‘SUBDOMAIN_INSTALL’, false);
define(‘DOMAIN_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘www.도메인.com’ );
define(‘PATH_CURRENT_SITE’, ‘/’);
define(‘SITE_ID_CURRENT_SITE’, 1);
define(‘BLOG_ID_CURRENT_SITE’, 1);

4. Insert the following into the .htaccess file:
The wp-config.php and .htaccess files must be located in the same path.
※ If you do not see the .htaccess file, check [Server > Hidden File Display].

Modify the contents of the .htaccess file as shown below.
# BEGIN WordPress
RewriteEngine On
RewriteBase /
RewriteRule ^index\.php$ – [L]
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?files/(.+) wp-includes/ms-files.php?file=$2 [L]
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)?wp-admin$ $1wp-admin/ [R=301,L]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -f [OR]
RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} -d
RewriteRule ^ – [L]
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)(wp-(content|admin|includes).*) $2 [L]
RewriteRule ^([_0-9a-zA-Z-]+/)(.*\.php)$ $2 [L]
RewriteRule . index.php [L]
